As recent studies shown very impressive that European Union and its institutions are still very much unknown in Asia – especially amongst youngsters and students. Therefore European Youth Press and Asian Media Information and Communication Centre agreed to establish a substainable "Asia-Europe Network for Young Journalists", as they represent more than 50.000 young journalists and communicators in Europe and over 1.500 in Asia. The first meeting of the steering-committee, comprising of five young journalists from Asia and five from Europe, took place from 12th until 15th December 2009 in Singapore.
