I grew up in a country, Haiti were the expression freedom of the press was as the morning prayer, so it was every day on every lips. Haiti has experienced sad moments in its history with blacks dictatorships that followed simultaneously in the country, people did not have the liberty expressions, freedom of speech. we had great fights and big fights to get a win this freedom which is so dear to Haitians now. I grew up has also read the stories of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, the political histories of Africa and 'I thought that the politics were the only forces of oppression to the media in developing countries which cut deeply the roots and structures of freedom of expression. but the more I grow the more I see that other powerful enough forces also had the option to kill freedom of expression especially in poor countries and they had another powerful weapon: Advertising
today many civilian forces not use oppression to close the mouth of a journalist, but rather money advertising to corrupt and force him indirectly not speaking. We must denounce it. we lived that also in Haiti with the last regime (2006/2011) who did not use force to silence the press, but another powerful weapon money and advertising seems to be a rather opaque body that can prevent them from seeing all this .
freedom of speech is one of the heaviest fighting so much to preserve it. the media face today has big problems, especially with the digital revolution, and it is worse in developing countries, people listening to less radio, the pub becomes a real battle, the press cannot function without the pub and, with this reality and many people use the pub in the developing countries to close the mouth of a journalist, not against corruption , other forms of media in these things are born with some media reporters seeking compensation for the number of pubs deriving from the issue, and often the journalists who do not have a great standard of living has to accept the blow a pub just to close your eyes or mouth for a folder’s what we are witnessing in Haiti for some cases, it was very large quite credible journalist, good work and are pretty awesome, but with all this corruption some of them join the sad power . now the major international media often do a lot more confidence to bloggers, observers volunteers, private citizens than true journalist in some countries because if it's true they have little experience but often their information are true and credible . you can see France 24 observers, these kinds of journalism have great revolution, this time we look at it as with the Arab Revolution ,struggles in Iran, or the press control in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia etc ........................ often some bloggers are anonymous and can transmit their information without worry. one of the drivers of these types of releases are young. In 2010 after participating in the One Young World conference in London which is the greatest forum of young leaders in the world, I founded a youth media www.vofworld.com present now in over 50 countries and young volunteers transmit information daily a one way to generate ideas and also solutions for a better world. Based on a volunteer project we had a great success and people continue to trust us with what they are engaged youth who share information without obligation pub, we covered the Arab revolutions, reports on the true voice of young Egyptians who were in the streets. are published record rather taboo as the traffic of human in Asia, the lost of children in India, child who work illegally in South America.
it is more important now if we are to reign this freedom of expression that we denounce these types of practices to silence journalists by corruption or advertising in developing countries because it is much like a poison after making the force, we must also rebuild confidence in the media and finally a policy equal to what the media can have the possibilities to operate normally.
I want finish with those phrases, Louis Farigoule said : A democracy is first of all this: a way of life where people dare to communicate their important things, all the important things, which they feel entitled to speak like adults, not children hidden ‘’
Marat Jean Paul said : The freedom to say everything has no 'enemies that those who want to reserve the freedom to do everything. When he is allowed to tell all the truth speaks for itself and its triumph is assured.
