Romania and Italy are closely linked. Because of history. Because of economic relationships. And because of immigration. Since Romania has joint European Union in 2007, the number of Romanians in Italy has doubled. Reactions were controversial: there has been a rising in crimes, which shocked the public opinion. Nevertheless Romanian people have continued to work and to get integrated in the Italian society. They're European citizens. They're becoming Italians, with all the pros and cons. We are an Romanian videomaker and an Italian journalist, living in the Venetian region. Almost three years later, we have tried to get a photo of what integration looks like today, thanks to European enlargement, asking Romanians living in Padua what has changed since their countryb entered European Union.
