Programme in Investigative Reporting and Journalistic Ethics, Riga
The programme in investigative reporting and journalistic ethics is an intensive six-day programme for journalists. The programme has a modular format and is based on two modules. This programme has been made possible through the generous financial support of the Swedish Foundation: Anne-Marie and Gustaf Anders Stiftelse för Medieforskning.
The goal of Module 1 (February 7-9, 2011) is to inspire and promote high professional standards and journalistic ethics. Through addressing the topics of investigative reporting and business reporting, the aim of the module is to provide participants with a framework, tools and application practice which can be transferred back to their work environment. The interactive format of the module gives participants opportunities for an ongoing professional peer network nationally and internationally.
The goal of Module 2 (March 2-4, 2011) is to give participants a basic framework for business analysis, methods for a successful economy and company analysis. The module gives insight into financial analysis and valuation.
Qualified journalists can apply for scholarships to cover the programme fee. There are 15 programme fee scholarships in total of EUR 1500. The scholarships are awarded based on merit.
The programme is organized by the Centre for Media Studies at SSE Riga. Upon completion of the programme, participants receive certificates issued by the Centre for Media Studies at SSE Riga.
